More About Palsjö Men’s Casual Leather Belts
Our men’s casual leather belts range was developed when I personally struggled to find high quality custom sized belts for myself. Most belts are made to fit a lot of waist sizes with one belt. That means a lot of holes and a super long belt. Not only does it fit poorly but also looks sloppy! Not to mention that most belts are super thin and made with very cheap leather. These belts break in just a couple of months. And in general just looks progressively worse as it ages.
That’s the reason why, for our casual belts for men, we have prioritised quality over everything else. We source the absolute best leather and solid metal hardware from Sweden or the EU. We want to be close to where our raw materials are made.
Full Grain Vegetable Tanned Leather Casual Belts For Men
We started with Tärnsjö Garveri for our leather. Tärnsjö is one of the only 5% of the world’s leather producers who still are producing 100% vegetable tanned leather. They have an incredible focus on sustainability. That’s an incredible baseline for us to start with!
But what really sold us on to using Tärnsjö Garveri is how beautiful their leather is. They are gorgeous to start with and ages beautifully with a superb patina.
PS: Tärnsjö Garveri’s clientele includes the Swedish royal family and exclusive brands like Hermes and Louis Vuitton. We feel confident in saying, we use some of the best leather in the world!

Solid Metal Buckles
We wanted to do justice to this beautiful leather with equally high quality solid metal buckles. We had to look a little further outside Sweden but managed to source some excellent buckles within the EU. They are super heavy weight, extremely durable and are made with solid metal. These buckles were nothing like we had seen in any high street store belts. They were thick, sand casted in the old fashioned way and were finished professionally with artisans just like us; with a strong focus on quality.

Next, we wanted to make sure that the belts fit nicely. We hate sloppy loose fitting belts as well as the ones which are so long that the tip flaps around on the waist! It spoils any outfit in an instant. So, even though it is time consuming to make one belt at a time, order by order, we still believe that the end result is so much better than generic sized belts. And we hope that you feel the same. In our humble opinion, a nice fitting belt sits snug and the tip of the belt just passes the first belt loop and sits about mid way between the first and second belt loop (see image below).

What kind of leather do you use for your casual belts?
We exclusively use 4mm (10-11 oz) premium full-grain vegetable-tanned leather (free from environmentally harmful Chromium) from Tärnsjö Garveri. This renowned Swedish tannery provides leather that is not only exceptionally durable but also develops a rich, beautiful patina over time, perfect for a lasting dress accessory.
We also almost exclusively use Tärnsjö leather is because their leather is a by product of the meat industry. It is sourced from local farms where the cows have had a very good life.
