There is no pigment layer on top, no topcoat paint, no synthetic coating on the surface. The black you see is the colour of the leather itself, which means it does not crack, peel, or fade. Full-grain means the entire surface of the hide is intact, nothing sanded away, nothing corrected. The strength and the character of the leather are both fully present. The seams are machine-stitched with size 20 Gütermann thread. The edges are sanded, bevelled, and burnished by hand, then dyed and finished with a layer of beeswax for durability and water resistance. The wallet is stamped with the Palsjö maker’s mark.

Black vegetable-tanned leather develops a quiet sheen with daily use rather than a dramatic colour change. The surface gets smoother and slightly richer where you handle it most.
