Vegetable tanning means natural plant tannins rather than chemical shortcuts. The leather takes longer to produce and it lasts considerably longer because of it.

The nose bridge is reinforced with two layers of leather, 2.6mm total, so the Classic Leather Sunglasses Case Blackholds its shape under the daily pressure of a bag. The solid brass snap sits directly over that reinforced section. When you press the case shut, you are pressing against structure, not against your frames. The seams are machine-stitched with size 20 Gütermann thread. The interior is burnished with tokonole, a traditional leather finishing compound, so the surface is sealed and smooth. No fibres, no dust transfer to your lenses. The edges are sanded, bevelled, and burnished by hand.
