- The Leather: Full grain, vegetable-tanned leather from Tärnsjö Garveri. It’s 2.2mm thick, tumbled for a soft pebble grain finish, and will develop a rich patina over time.
- The Feel: This thickness gives the bag structure without making it heavy. It’s also easy to work with, which helps me build it cleanly and precisely.
- The Handles: Made from thick 10oz leather—the same I use for belts. They’re strong, comfortable, and easy to replace if needed.
- The Hardware: Smooth, reliable YKK zippers and solid brass fittings. Both are built to last and will age beautifully alongside the leather.
- Sustainability: The leather is a by-product of the meat industry, sourced locally in Sweden. It’s TÜV certified and vegetable-tanned—no harmful chromium, no waste.
These materials are the foundation of the tote. They’re what make it feel timeless, personal, and built to last.
